Services were held for Louis Krauss, 80, on Friday, December 8, 1995 at 11:00
a.m. in the Shelby Chapel in East Prairie, with Bro. Burl Britt and Bro. Mike
Johnson, of the Full Gospel Church, of East Prairie, officiating. Burial followed
in Odd Fellows Cemetery, near Charleston.
Mr. Krauss, a resident of rural Charleston, died on Tuesday, December 5, 1995
at 7:00 p.m. at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born on January 2, 1915 in Bertrand, son of the late William M. and
Nellie Atkins Krauss. Mr. Krauss had lived his entire life in Mississippi County,
where he was a retired farmer and was of Baptist Faith. On June 2, 1934, he
was married to Lillian Beatrice Winders, who preceded him in death on May 17,
1950.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Wilma Krauss, of
Festus, four daughters, Mrs. Ted (Joan) Hutchason, of Charleston, Mrs. Brice
(Nancy) Barnes of Park Hills, Mrs. Bruce (Betty) Ferrie, of Lake Havasu City,
AZ, and Mrs. Fred (Aline) Haley of Charleston; one brother, Charlie Krauss, of
Sikeston; two sisters, Mrs Blanche Bowman, of Wyatt, and Mrs. Nell Laughlin of
California, by 17 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Pallbearers: Dickie Hanor, Adon Cox, Richard Cox, Phil Blackman, Maxey Blackman,
and Bob Hanor.
Honorary Pallbearers: Jim Day, Hunter Rolwing, Mark Miller, Cecil Hammontree
and Milas Mainord.
Howard Louis KRAUSS and Lillian Beatrice WINDERS were married on 2 Jun 1934.
Lillian Beatrice WINDERS was born on 3 Apr 1918.
She died on 17 May 1950. She was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Charleston,
Mississippi Co., MO. Howard Louis KRAUSS and Lillian Beatrice WINDERS
